At Morley Newlands Academy, we are committed to being fully inclusive, ensuring that all members of our school are treated fairly and equally.  Morley Newlands Academy’s approach to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, SEND, shows our commitment to being fully inclusive. By working in partnership with children, families and partner agencies, we ensure that all children receive the support they need to access all aspects of school life. We respect each child as an individual and have high expectations and aspirations for all.  We strongly recommend that you make an appointment to look round the school and meet a member of The SEND team to discuss your child’s needs so that you can make an informed decision when choosing your child’s school.

In March 2014, the Government passed The Children and Families Act that made wide ranging reforms to services for all children and young people, and specifically for those with SEND. From September 2014 Local Authorities must publish information about what services for children with SEND are available and how families can access them. This is known as the ‘Local Offer’.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child and would like to speak with our SEND team then please do not hesitate to contact Jayne Forrow who is our Assistant Principal for SEND or Angela Cheyne our Vice Principal and SENDCo.

Morley Newlands Academy’s Local Offer

All schools also have a duty to publish their own individual offer of support for children with SEND and this is known as our ‘core offer’.
