We chose to become a science specialist school because we believe every child has the right to an outstanding science education from the outset. The curriculum we have developed supports all learners in cultivating a love of STEM and equips them with the skills to pursue future careers in the industry.

With a purpose-built science lab available for all children to access, and lessons designed to enrich and enhance, our science education is truly unparalleled. The state-of-the-art lab is equipped with microscopes, Bunsen burners, movable desks, and a visualiser — tools typically reserved for secondary education — supporting our innovative approach to science.

Around the school, our children celebrate science, especially recognising the hidden figures who have significantly contributed to the field but have not always been acknowledged for their dedication and knowledge. A key aim is to challenge stereotypes about figures and careers in STEM, breaking down barriers that may prevent our students from pursuing science-based futures. By addressing the key issues facing STEM industries in the UK today, we have developed a program that not only meets but exceeds the National Curriculum. It builds upon a child’s natural curiosity, fosters critical thinking, and offers opportunities beyond those typically available to primary school students.
